What We Do

In addition to helping individuals, WIN supports many organizations, including Corinth's C.A.R.E. program, which provides winter clothing for schoolchildren, the Hadley-Luzerne backpack program, which ensures that students will have nutritious food on weekends, and the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund. As always, WIN continues to support local food pantries through monetary donations in an effort to stem hunger in hundreds of low-income families in the immediate area.

**SPOTLIGHT**Hygiene Kits Program:

In the fall of 2016, with the generous assistance of the Glens Falls Foundation, WIN launched a "Hygiene Kits for Kids" project, which provides healthcare products to local low-income elementary schoolchildren. The hygiene kits, consisting of 14 personal care products, are discreetly distributed to the children who are identified as in need by school administrators and nurses.

Our program fills a recognized void for families who cannot afford to purchase these products, which are necessary items that most of us take for granted. These families simply do not have the means to stretch their grocery budget to include basic personal products. Through our contacts with school administrators and research of poverty levels in the area, we've learned that the need is widespread. Since 2016, WIN has sought to annually distribute 800 kits to elementary schoolchildren in local school districts.

This project's highlight is the delivery to the schools, which is heartwarming and fosters our ongoing commitment to this program. We always receive grateful acknowledgments from school administrators.

As an entirely volunteer-based organization, we are proud of our long-standing service to those in need. All funds stay in our communities to contribute to the health and well-being of our neighbors. As an established nonprofit with a dedicated group of over 30 active volunteers, we understand we must grow and change to meet the ever-changing needs of our communities. Our funding is sourced solely from various fundraising programs, private donations, and the generosity of local businesses and other nonprofits. We receive no government assistance of any kind.
